I almost went with Little Giants but I haven't seen it in so long I don't know if it holds up. I went with Rudy.

Although, I think Any Given Sunday is underrated.

Loved Rudy, but The Longest Yard(74) has to be the winner.
I bought Leatherheads on PPV last year.
After it was over, I remember asking myself what the frick I had just watched.
Horrible.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy...
Also, Remember the Titans was good. I own a copy of 22 Straight 1963-1965. I watched it once.

Two movies I watch every July are Any Given Sunday and The Longest Yard (74). That usually gets me through the summer sports-Starkville I go through since I don't like watching baseball. Would Debbie Does Dallas be considered at least partially a football movie?

Why isn't The Replacements on that list?
And why IS Radio on that list?? God that was some awful crap.

Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fellow says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace - and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

I too was pretty thoroughly disappointed in Leatherheads. Which is too bad because the premise had real potential. Rick Reilly co-wrote it, which I guess should have been a red flag.

Hoosiers.
Showed this as the pre-game movie to many football teams I coached. Great motivation, plus the sexual tension between Norman Dale and Myra Fleener was palpable. Every coach should have a Myra Fleener as acting principal.

The original The Longest Yard.
The remake was an abomination.
Starkville, The Replacements > The Longest Yard remake
I voted The Waterboy out of the above choices.
