I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.
This should tell you something. It's Tuesday night after a blowout on Monday Night Football and THAT thread is still on the main board and getting posts.NBA action starts tonight. Crapola. 3 posts. The league is down.
I like the NBA because it's not tainted by rampant drug use and rule thuggery like MLB seems to be.I can't figure out why in the world AI is in Memphis though. I'm sure he's trying to figure out why he's there too. If the Cavs are wanting to be treated as the team to beat in the East though, they needed to make a statement by winning that game last night.
Right now the Lakers are the Yankees of NBA ball. I was shocked to see them introduce Adam Morrison as one of their scrubs. They clearly are willing to pay what it takes and do what it takes to build a deep team that can win on any given night off the efforts of 5 or 6 other really good players, not named Kobe, that would be "stars" in other markets.
[The Lakers] convinced Memphis to practically GIVE them Pao Gasol a couple years ago in a very lopsided but legal trade.
They convinced Memphis to practically GIVE them Pao Gasol a couple years ago in a very lopsided but legal trade. Adam Morrison was a throw in player in a trade last year with Charlotte where the Lakers were trying to dump salary. I guess I just don't get the comparison between the Yankees and the Lakers. They are both good but for very different reasons.
Pao didn't do nuthin in memphis. He was la-zy. But as soon as he gets on a team with a chance to win a title, he sure picked his game up. Memphis fans (there's like 12 of them) still gripe about that.
frick that i want the, fresh as a whistle

Not that anyone here will care, but Dirk was brilliant tonight for the mavs...once the 4th quarter started. Dude had something like 11 points going into the 4th. Scores 29 in the 4th leading the Mavs back from a 16 (i think) point deficit to end up winning by almost 10.
can't believe you even took the time to write that
Is almost 10 something like 9?
As a distinguished member of the panel of 12, the only thing I gripe about is the skimpy amount of pork on my Neely's BBQ nachos.I appreciate Pau's brother a lot more. He at least plays hard.
Don't know if any one has read these excerpts from Donaghey's never to be seen book, but very compelling reading to say the least.http://deadspin.com/5392067/excerpts-from-the-book-the-nba-doesnt-want-you-to-read?skyline=true&s=x
