There's still that ridiculous bird on the helmet and shoes.

All their players will know they are wearing it and they will probably lose every game because of it.

Those look like tire tread marks. Did he get runt over?

Well, if I saw that uniform in the streets, I'd be tempted.

I like the Aztec stuff on the SDSU uni's.  Stuff looks a little more orange than red, though.  I thought they were red and black.  Maybe it's my monitor.  Or my memory.

OK, enough of the positive stuff.

Let me put on some white socks and sandals, polyester cargo shorts, and a non-baseball hat, holler at some damn fool kids to get off my lawn, and then present to you, in reverse order, my irks regarding the race to the bottom of uniform changes:

#3: Lack of a, well, "uniform" look.  Oregon might wear 8-10 different looks in a season.  I guess you could say not having a standard look IS their "look."  It's non-branding branding.  Pick out a home set and a road set and roll with it.  Develop some tradition along with a brand.  Maybe throw in the odd alternate look once a year for fun, e.g. our '64 throwback unis for the Bama game last year.  Again, of the three, this bothers me the least.  But if you have ten uniforms, or do a radical redesign every year, you don't really have a uniform.

#2  Weird crap.  See, "Louisville, University of."  "Look, if you stand on the field and flex, it looks like you're flying!"  "If you hold your receiver gloves in a certain way in front of the camera, it looks like a silhouette of the Book of Mormon."  Some of the recent Maryland helmet art fits in here.  Safety green shoes do as well.

#1  Uniforms in non-school colors.  E.g. Nebraska.  My whole life they have been red and white.  Now they show up in mostly black?  Ditto anything anthracite for us.  It's not even heliotrope.  (Remember when all the newish pro franchises were rushing to teal?)   If you don't like your school colors, change them.  Otherwise, use them, not what some marketing study tells you is the flavor of the month.

Awful. Adidas sucks. Louisville also wore probably the worst college baseball uniforms of all time in the NCAA tournament last year. Louisville is peaking in athletics and their uniforms are complete aMm. Run to Nike as fast as you can, Louisville.

^All of this. I think you referred to Adidas as a 'shitshow' previously in this thread. More evidence in your favor.

The Louisville ones look  like something you'd see on a message board from some superfan who barely knows how to use photoshop.  Terrible.

The Louisville gear evokes Angry Birds.

Angry Birds, Uncaged Cardinals - six of one, half dozen of the other.

--

The University of Louisville and adidas today unveiled the new Uncaged Cardinal Primeknit strategy football uniform, which will make its on-field debut on Saturday, September 5th vs. Auburn for the season opener.

Drawing inspiration from the Louisville mascot, the new uniform brings the Cardinal to life like never before – from head to toe – with an all-new, photo-real, high-def Uncaged Cardinal. Designed to represent the football team's style of play, the Uncaged Cardinal is fierce, attacking and always on the offensive.

At the center of the design, the helmet features the new Uncaged Cardinal on one side, while a chrome and red English "L" pays homage to Louisville's heritage on the other side. Further infusing the new theme, the shoulders of the jersey feature chrome and red wings – symbolizing the Uncaged Cardinal in flight, which accent the chrome lettering and numbering outlined in bold red on the jersey, while the pants showcase a chrome and red English "L" on the left leg to match the helmet.

Made with a cutting-edge, proprietary yarn blend that increases durability and abrasion resistance, Primeknit is the newest generation of the adidas TECHFIT football uniform system. Primeknit keeps players cool and increases range of motion, giving athletes an unrivaled level of comfort and allowing them to perform at their highest levels. The jersey's redesigned padlock system improves tension over the shoulder pads. The jersey's redesigned padlock system improves tension over the shoulder pads, while the compression fit adheres to the player, making it difficult for opponents to grab, hold or tackle.

Rounding out the head-to-toe package is the TECHFIT gun show baselayer, featuring an oversized photo-real, high-def Uncaged Cardinal and red English "L" overlay on the chest, the adizero 4.0 Uncaged Cardinal gloves, and the adizero 5-Star 4.0 cleats, emblazoned with the new photo-real, high-def Uncaged Cardinal, wrapped 180 degrees around the upper of the cleat.

The adizero 5-Star 4.0, lighter than any competitor cleat at 8.1 ounces, has a SPRINTSKIN upper with SHOCKWEB reinforcement and a SPRINTFRAME plate that provides maximum acceleration and multi-directional traction.
