Worst one, to me, is the 2-4 record against Kentucky.

That one just still doesn't make sense to me.

Only 4 winning records.

The good news is, by this time in six years, we'll having winning records over Dead Trees, Kentucky, LSU.

We may never catch up to Tennessee and Florida though.
I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.

That is an interesting read and brought back a lot of memories.  The '95 game in Memfris against the black bears is one.  I had just started school in Memphis and a couple of college buddies came over for the game.  We had never been to a game that sold beer.

One of those wins was Tim Couch throwing to the EZ for a tie in the last minute and the other win was the 7OT job @ KY. If they don't jump offsides on 4th down at the 1 in the 6th OT they score a TD and win that one.

Boy I'll tell ya....we are a couple plays away from being 0-6 vs the Cats.

You actually have to hand it to Nutt here.  His clockwork mediocrity may actually be appreciated as an improvement over those Crowe and Ford years.

One time when I was actually motivated I compared Ford's and Nutt SEC record and Nutt averaged an extra .5 conference win a year.

Only 4 winning records.

There were only 3 winning records under the previous coach.  We weren't able to add mighty Vanderbilt to our bitch list until recently.

Colonel Reb's SEC record is exactly 50-50.  Arkansas' record is 71-82.

Not worth it.

We beat SMU though with Dale.

FIFTY!  FIFTY!

The original thread in this post is what exemplifies how college football is such a "what have you done lately" pasttime.  We are feeling elated that we are maybe BCS bowl bound.  It has totally faded in my mind just how awful suck we were for those early SEC years.... just like LSU fans now think of themselves as this elite program that has dominated the SEC forever.

Colonel Reb's SEC record is exactly 50-50.

42-40 (.525) while at Arkansas

30-21 (.588) vs. SEC West teams
12-19 (.387) vs. SEC East teams
26-36 (.419) vs. SEC teams without “Mississippi” in their name

15-25 (.375) vs. Top 25 teams
5-14 (.263) vs. Top 10 teams

Never came back after the broken arm.  Got a med. RS, practiced again in Spring of '08, but he didnt make the 2 deep.  I think I remember him quitting shortly after that to pursue studies or something like that.

.08 seconds left in that game down 3.  That's .04 seconds more than BMFP needs to get 6.

This just reflects on where we have been.  I believe it shows how behind SEC teams we were, when we joined the conference, and it shows that we were slow to catch up.  Broyles did a bunch of good things, but his coaching hires were not great.  Our record could have been much better, if we had made better hires and committed to updating facilities sooner.

Fortunately, we have updated most football related facilities and plan to complete updating all of them soon.  We have a great coach, who is going to be under a long term contract w/ a huge buyout.  Also, Coach Petrino was ridiculed for jumping from job to job.  At the time, many of my friends from other schools would mention this, and my response was that he has to stay w/ us for awhile and produce, just to show that he can do it again, and that he doesn't normally jump ship, if he can get in a decent situation.  Hopefully, he loves where he is and wants to stay.  I believe that is a reasonable assumption at this point.

Can we see their records in the first three years that they weren't hamstrung by Pop Warner-level recruits left by the previous coaching staff?
