Police beat article in today's AR Dem Gaz, Arkansas section.  If you don't have central AR edition, you might not have it. Hope the guy's okay, sounded like they got him pretty good.

I'm surprised my neighbor is not on the roster after last week. He apparently drove drunk to the liquor store for more beer and then hit a stop sign and subsequently missed hitting a guy walking.  He came home only to sit on his front porch yelling "stay away you evil lurkers" for a while.  Friday the cops were called again because he was out on his front porch moaning and groaning...cops show up again and apparently he confessed to huffing pain thinner and solvents because he claimed his gf broke up with him....however he's gay.  This is the same guy that when I moved in walked up with a hand full of weed and began literally eating it while he tried to talk to me.

frick the skipper.  That turd rancher fits in at a homosexual nude nursing home, and nobvillehomeofthedregsand

That name sounds familiar to me as well.  I've never heard of this bar but it sounds like "night life" used to be in the 90's.  I think that was the name of it, it was over there where K-mart used to be.  That was a bar that they issued a gun to you if you if you didn't have one.  Scary as Starkville.

This LR thread is hard core.

it wasn't all that bad, not as bad as the clubs on asher or even worse some of the clubs like the Bamboo or sandpiper.

Night Life was okay as long as you didn't sit on that bar stool with the brass plaque at the end of the bar.

Is that where the Long Branch Saloon used to be?

Well it used to be Turner's 67 liquor, or some such.

Nope. Long Branch was on Scott hamilton next to the liquor store. Back in the early 90's we used to go there every Wednesday night when they had all you can eat wings (Wheeler Wings).

Good Times!

Long Branch is still on Scott Hamilton. Rock City used to be in a little concrete block building on Arch just north of Baseline. Now they're in a much nicer larger concrete block building a little farther north.

Night Life was awful.  A soul graveyard.

Went there a couple of times in the late 80's.  Still can see the awful hair bands on stage in my mind.

What was the name of the club on Rodney Parham in the 1980's and 1990's?  It was a free-standing building (not tucked into a shopping center like Cuzins/Legends).  There's an auto parts store or bank there now, I think.  Was it "Wrangler's" or "The Wrangler?"  Something silly like that.

Attaboy, way to defend your woman's honor.

Unfortunately I don't think there will be anyone at Varner to defend his honor.

I'm sure though that his woman will wait lovingly and patiently for him.  That'll give him some comfort on those cold, dark, painfully unpleasant nights.

It was obviously memorable.  Much like Midnight Rodeo/Joe's Big Bamboo/AxeMurderBistro.
