Check out how many more titles aTm has after leaving the Big XII for the SEC:

Before:

After:

FYI the one they added in 2010 was in a year they finished in a 3-way tie for the Big XII-South and didn't go to the Big XII Title Game.

The mysterious retroactive national championships I can't explain, either.

There's not really a mystery.  These mommafrickers can't even build a fire right.  Do you think they should be able to count and tell time, too?  It also looks like a modified stockholm syndrome.  They're mimicking Bama.

This. Bama claims 14 and has 8 or 9. If we used their standard, we could claim two for sure and I bet we could find another one somewhere.

Why the Starkville not? Bama's are complete bullshit yet everyone repeats it. A&M's are bullshit but if they stick it out through the bad PR they'll get for a month in five years people will be saying they have 3 title's.

According to the DMN, the A&M "claim" to the 1919 and 1927 NC's is based upon the fact that those teams were undefeated AND unscored upon.
I'm asking you as fans, don't give up on those players, don't give up on us, it's our program, it's the state of Alabama program...it's not one individuals program, so hang in there...

Quote
Texas A&M played a schedule that was far weaker than even Notre Dame's, as they faced no opponent who would merit even a top 50 ranking, and they struggled to win 2 of those games, beating 3-5 Southwestern (Texas) and 6-3 Texas by the same 7-0 score. Texas wasn't a bad team, but they lost to 5-2-3 Oklahoma and to Phillips, a minor Oklahoma school. The Southwest region as a whole had yet to record a nationally significant intersectional win. But Dana Bible would win the first on January 2nd, 1922, when 6-1-2 Texas A&M pulled off a huge 22-14 upset of Charlie Moran's 10-1 Centre team in the Dixie Classic in Dallas.

Obviously, Texas A&M is by far the worst selection of the 6 teams I've covered for a 1919 MNC

http://deadspin.com/5941380/texas-am-picked-up-two-national-championships-two-conference-titles-over-the-summer

• In 1919, either Harvard or Illinois won the title, depending on who you talked to. But the National Championship Foundation, which was formed in 1980, polled its voters to choose retroactive championships for every year dating back to 1869. For 1919, they declared a three-way tie between Harvard, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M.

The Billingsley Report, the creation of programmer Richard Billingsley, also retroactively declared champions beginning in 1996, including the undefeated 1919 Aggies. It is purely mathematical, arguably quite flawed, and has become an actual component of the BCS Standings.

• In 1927, Illinois was the closest thing to a consensus champion those confusing 1920s could offer. But the Sagarin Ratings, the computer formula devised in the 1980s by Jeff Sagarin and more familiarly used for basketball, declared the Aggies the national champs that year.

The conference titles are easier to sort out.

• In 1997, the Aggies finished first in the Texas League South—though with the third best record in the entire conference. In the conference title game, they were blown out by Nebraska. They're still claiming that year as a conference championship.

• In 2010, there was a three-way tie in the Texas League South, with Texas A&M coming in third by the tiebreaker of overall record. (There was also a tie in the North division, meaning that literally every team that finished above .500 can technically boast a conference championship that season.) The Aggies didn't even go to the conference title game, but still claim the conference title.

Sounds like they were taking a page out of Hooties book, claiming championships without winning the conference.

Heck...at least we put on their that it was a division-championship. Not something really worth bragging about, but at least we were honest about it.

The A&M game has been relegated to an 11:21 am start on the good old SEC Network.

I foresee a bunch of SEC Network telecasts in our future this season.

Guess it doesn't matter much anyhow, since the wheels feel off why we were in the spotlight. Still, given our prospects, this is probably a good thing.

It's too bad they've used the PPV option as that would have been a fitting place for KY at the Hogs.

Screw that. I'm gonna party my ass off in CS. If we can't win the game, at least I'm gonna be drunk as frick all weekend and would be better if it was an afternoon game.
