Who gives a aMm? At least we don't have to go to redstick and Bama two - three times in a row. That's what i was worried about
I do. It is silly to not be playing Missouri and instead playing SC (I know, I know its just for 2012) and I live in SC.

The 2012 SEC Football Schedule Released, Now Everyone Freak Out
by Spencer Hall • Dec 28, 2011 10:45 AM EST

A few instant reactions looking at the 2012 SEC Football Schedule, now featuring 14 teams and PAIN. Lots and lots of pain.

1. The power of prayer has never been scientifically confirmed, but if you want evidence start with Georgia's schedule. The clear winner in conference realignment is Mark Richt's net worth, as contract bonuses are guaranteed with UGA's breezy conference draw.

The Dawgs miss LSU and Alabama, and pull the derelict shell of the Ole Miss football program instead from the West. Their toughest road game is South Carolina, and even that traditional early matchup has been moved back to give some proper warmup time for the Bulldogs.

1a. This means UGA will be favored to win the SEC East, and thus will not win the SEC East.

2. The other winner is Vandy, who might very well compete for an SEC East title with an easy draw missing the twin beasts of LSU and Alabama, and moving the South Carolina game up to an August 30th opener. The road games are lovely: at Georgia (who they've done well against,) and then a three game breeze through Mizzou, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.

3. Ole Miss is going to die. You already knew that because they are Ole Miss coming out of a Houston Nutt coma, but they're going to die twice, and possibly three or four times. The standard SEC West schedule is bad enough, but the road schedule is as follows: at Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, and Georgia. Ole Miss fans are the only ones today who can legitimately claim that the SEC hates them, because they clearly do.   O0 O0 O0 O0 O0 :maundoed:

4. The new roommates? They get to sleep in the basement, though it's not clear which one gets the worst of living arrangements. Texas A&M is a clear leader because of the burlier SEC West schedule and a guest spot in College Station by Florida, but Mizzou gets road trips to see the Gators, Tennessee, and then finishes with a trip to see fellow pledges the Aggies in College Station. It's ugly in all directions, but it may be a little worse on the Aggies side since they have to play both LSU and Alabama, two games that will end in tears and expensive medical treatments.

5. Twin pillars of conference standard-bearing Alabama and LSU get fair hands dealt to them by the robodealer at SEC headquarters, with Alabama being the only other team besides Florida with a chance to personally welcome Mizzou and Texas A&M to the league. Alabama's personal welcomes are vigorous hugs of the throat applied with both hands, often accompanied by repeated violent headbutts. You'll get used to them.

Because Mizzu doesn't want that. Hog fans would roll int Columbus and take over the city and stadium effectively making it a "home" game for Arkansas. Just like LR or Dallas.

Since when do we care what Mizzou wants?

Bama probably has the toughest schedule in the conference, either them or LSU.

Ole Miss has 4 conference road games: @Bama, @Arkansas, @Georgia, @LSU.

All of their conference games are against 2011 bowl teams.

Plus they play Texas.

That's pretty brutal.

The reason Miss, MSU, Aub, and A&M are above us is the fact that they have to play
Bama, LSU, and Arkansas.

UGA's schedule is a fricking joke.

We need a good non conference opponent.

I'm tired of us playing nobody's the first 2 weeks of the season and then getting the doors blown off us by Bama's SEC-caliber speed & talent.

We also play Tulsa (one of the better mid-majors, definitely not one to hurt strength of schedule), and we are looking for either a replacement for A&M at JerryWorld or a home-and-home with a quality opponent should the A&M game stay in Arlington.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing a couple of rent-a-wins who won't demand a return game at their place.  Even 99% of the schools who play in inferior conferences like the Big XII-II-I-I+II and the Big 10+1+1 have at least two games against teams of the quality of ULM and JackCroweville State.

Cupcakes are fine but these are like White Castle mini burgers with whipped creme on top.

We're gonna run right through them like crap through a goose!
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

After thinking about it, I wish we'd stop playing ULM or Mizzou State all the damned time and play LA Tech, SMU, or Southern Miss instead if we want a non-conference game against a mid-major that isn't a total joke. They're not exactly cupcakes, but they are games we should still win.

We had played an entire SEC schedule when we faced LSU and still got the doors blown off.

Bama pretty much loses their entire starting defense.  And they play W. Kentucky before playing their first true road game against us in Fayetteville.  I have a good feeling about this one.

Alabama opens with Michigan in Dallas.

Granted, that's a neutral site, but which team will be more battle-tested?

The team that played Michigan on a neutral field & WKU at home, or the team that played Jax State & LaMo both at home?

This. I'm not saying we have to play fricking Oregon or Boise or somebody in weeks 1 or 2, but I would feel much better about our chances vs. Bammer if we had some kind of challenge in the weeks before.

I would have no worries whatsoever in playing Boise right off the bat.

Florida plays their last historical SEC opponent in October with the Cocktail Party, finishes their SEC slate with newcomer Mizzou on 11/3, and then plays three consecutive non-conference games to END the season. Home vs. ULL, Home vs. Jacksonville St., @ FSU.

We might should quit bitching.
