All these times I hear about someone killing them It makes me cringe, because in some sick way that's probably what they want.  It would be vindication for them to die or be persecuted for their beliefs. Now, I would have no qualm if their church computers were found to be filled with the highest quality animal prons or even if  a Donnie Darko type fire revealed a porn dungeon.

The Kansas City Star did a profile on Megan Phelps-Roper yesterday that is heartbreaking.  Young woman who got straight A's through high school and college but is stuck living a life of hate because she was raised in a cult.  The story also details how some family members have escaped over the years and are living regular lives.

Great read if you have the time.  http://www.kansascity.com/2011/11/19/3275645/megan-phelps-roper-an-heir-to.html#storylink=omni_popular

The UA is holding a candlelight memorial service tonight at 8PM at Bud Walton, open to the public.  Gearhart, Petrino, and others will speak.  Live stream via ArkansasRazorbacks.com.

I'm traveling to NCA tomorrow.  If they're going to be in I'm not opposed to driving a couple extra hours to take care of some business*.

*by business I mean a nice gentleman talk of course.

Good god.

Watching this ceremony at Bud Walton. No way you could watch Austin Tate or Petrino's speech and not tear up.

That is so spot-on.  And yet, couldn't you just visualize those two great big old kids, in a "haunted house", on halloween, screaming like a couple of little girls when the chain saw dude jumped out at them?  Dear Jesus, life is so short.  Cherish every moment.

I'll tell you what, anybody that doubts Bobby Petrino's sincerity and commitment to this state and football program after watching that eulogy can kiss my ass.

Exactly.  I want ESPN to show an outtake of the vigil tonight and show Petrino crying over a lost kid.  Then I want them to issue a fricking apology for everything they ever said about his character.  No one can deny he cares about his players.

Absofuckinglutely.  If there was any moment that shows how the media can paint such a false perception of someone, seeing him tonight proves it.

The man at the podium tonight had his character questioned on national television by a sleazo slapdick who was fired for showing female co-workers cell phone pics of his porkula.  Think about that.

frick ESPN.

Bobby is a man of high character and he always has been.

he Washington County Coroner released Garrett Uekman's cause of death.

Rogers Morris said Uekman had an enlarged hart. He also said the enlarged hart caused arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy of unknown etiology.

Toxicology tests came back negative.

Uekman was found unconscious in his dorm room at the University of Arkansas on Sunday morning. He was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Uekman was last seen playing video games by a roommate Sunday morning before he was found unresponsive in his dorm room an hour later. University police said they won't release the incident report until after the autopsy report is released.

I know this is a very small consolation but I am happy his family didn't have to deal with a positive toxicology report taking away from his rep.

Sounds like systolic heart failure .  Could have been a genetic thing, or a medication mixup.

It's a big killer of people like pro-wrestlers and others who abuse steroids, but I don't think that's the case here.
I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.

There has been an issue with athletes and something like this in the past.  If its what I read about in the past, I think this genetic issue is easy to test for and discover but for whatever reason teams don't do it.  Maybe I'm confusing it with another problem and I kind of hope I am because it would suck if this could've been caught before it happened.

An athlete usually has no reason to get an EKG.  That's why these are so shocking when they happen.
