Can you do it with a red #88?  I think the ribbon is enough black.

edited again, because now I'm all confused.

let's start over.

post one:  I make a crack about it looking like "86" instead of "88"

then I realize that might have been intentional, since he was told to "86" that little hog in the middle.

post two: I edit my post accordingly.

then I look at the picture a lil' more carefully, and realize it looks like he just took the first "8" which looks like a backwards "6" anyway, and flipped it. Thus making it look like a "6" and thus making the number look like "86"

So is this intentional, or just a wonderfully confusing accident?

Post three: This is the third post.  I am all ate up with it

I don't know, I just took his picture and removed the hog. Here is another one with the red 88, but apparently I am not smart enough to rotate it without it looking a little weird.

The red definitely looks better.

I have always looked at BMFP as a hired gun, someone to come in and take us to the promised land, but not really a hog.  I always thought he was here to win and win big that he would have done it at any college.  Today, he proved he is a real hog and realizes what it means.  It just got personal.

Man, just got time to sit and watch the video from last night.  Coach Petrino had to do all he could to make it through that short speech, and I couldn't have any more respect for the man after watching him.  All coaches say they are a father-figure or mentor to their kids, but this man lives it.

I can't wait for Friday.

A hired gun by virtue of his resume and expertise, but no doubt the man is a father figure.  He's not buddy-buddy, he's not your best friend.  He's your coach and leader and shows love through his passion and energy.  When you demand perfection and eliminate those that aren't working at the level you demand, you can't help but form a deep bond with everyone who's walking the line.  Garrett walked the line.  He walked it at Little Rock Catholic and did what it took to be a Razorback in the Petrino era.  He's a lot younger than me, but from everything I understand he was a role model at Catholic and continued that legacy at the UofA.  I'm not sure there's anything anyone can do to honor him more than his parents know he is honored.  He was a great young man and embodied everything a Catholic High alum and University of Arkansas student-athlete is supposed to be.

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes, and haven't even watched the video.  Not sure my weak heart could take it.

That video was tough. I lost a roommate in college in a car accident and I can relate to those young men. It's an awful tragedy and they will spend a long time grieving.

I love Bobby Petrino more now than ever before. It's one thing to see the man screaming on the sidelines and being intense, but it's another to see that he treats these young men like his sons.

This family will need support for a very long time and I'm pleased to know that the great people of Arkansas will give them just that.
He who learns must suffer. And in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus

Yep.  I believe he is the absolute best man we could have hoped for.  I hope he retires here.

classy.

One of my best friends from grad school is a aMm grad.  He texted me about this when it happened.  Said he got a little misty over it.

Classy move indeed.

I had one of my buddies wife and youngest child in the office today.  She went to pick up her kid at CTK shortly before the service and said people were parking half a mile away to attend the service.  RIP my Razorback brother.  I never had to deal with something like this as a teenager.  I can't imagine what his teammates (or his family) are going through.

Garrett's funeral was very emotional. When the balloons were released and the Hogs were called, I almost lost it. Father Fred and Steve Straessle did a great job! I was glad to see Garrett's life celebrated as more than a Razorback which he will always be.
