This is weird (although I'd love it if he came here as a recruiter):
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/02/malzahn-reportedly-interviews-for-unc-job/

"...the Times reports that wide receivers coach/towel-waving coordinator Trooper Taylor (no relation) is in the mix at Tulane."

So Tulane would consider him over McGee?   ???

How will Chezzit win another national championship of the world without his backward hat wearing, towel waving
rah rah cheerleader on the sidelines?

Sources: Mullen Close To Signing Deal At Penn State

JACKSON, Miss. -- Sources close to aMm University's program have said that football coach Dan Mullen is close to signing a deal to replace Joe Paterno at Penn State.

WAPT Sports learned on Tuesday that Mullen was the No. 1 candidate for their vacant head coaching position.

Mullen, 39, is a Pennsylvania native and was born in Drexel Hill. He played tight end and graduated from Ursinus College in his home state in 1994.

Mullen is in his third season at the helm in Starkville, leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back bowl games.

A spokesperson for MSU said that reports Mullen is close to leaving are false.

Coach and school says it's false which means this is a done deal!

What, I mean, I don't even...

Somebody would turn the reins of their football program over to Trooper Taylor?

This is fricking Bizarro World, isn't it?

Maybe they realize they need such huge upgrade in talent, they're doing anything they can to get a good recruiter on campus and then let the position coaches do their thing. Other than that, it's absurd.

That would be kind of comical if Trooper Taylor got a HC job before Malazahn.

Yeah but where are they going to get the money to pay them?

Here's one new coaches comment at one of his first pressers on the job.

"...we didn't come to paint.  We came to win the game".  "It's really a play we've worked ever since last year's game with LSU"  cBMFP, Nov. 27, 2010

An outstanding academic school at that.  Bet all the faculty of Tulane would love having that semi-literate frick representing their school.

Believe it or not, most of the faculty at Tulane doesn't pay any attention to the football team.  Even when they were half decent.  But I don't see the Athletic department or anyone with a say being ok with that retard.

Was that when Shaun King was lighting up the scoreboard, leading the Green Wave to an undefeated season en route to a berth in the Liberty Bowl?  :stache:

I did say half-decent, didn't I?  Finished undefeated after thrashing the mormons in the Liberty Bowl.  And, yeah, the faculty really couldn't be bothered.

"I've gotten so many text messages that I've had to delete a lot of them because I was running out of space," said Guidry, 37, a New Orleans native now living in a suburb of Houston, Texas.

"A lot of these people who call and text, I have no clue who they are. Here's a text that says, 'Archie, I have tremendous love for Ole Miss. I would love to serve as their next head coach. Any consideration would be greatly appreciated.' It's signed, 'Hugh Freeze.' Do you know who he is?"

In a story on Arkansas 360, he didn't deny sending the text. Expected to be offered the OM gig today:
