I'm surprised Arkansas has kept him this long when you see some of the folks that are getting head coaching jobs.

I kind of assumed he was semi retired, our special teams have improved under him but I wouldn't say he's irreplaceable.

Like I said, John L. doesn't coach the punter or place kicker, they dick around all practice while Smith 'coaches' the OLBs. 

And those 5 special teams scores had less of an impact than the ST scores we gave up.

I would hate to lose Smith, as he seemed very happy being given extra time with the special teams. Our return game has been stellar -- to the point where I don't think it's ever been this good (the years with McFadden and Jones returning kicks featured the infamous "punt catcher" era).  If you watch the coaches show you see the returns are more than just a great talent like Adams or Johnson.


Losing McGee is something we should have been prepared for since last year. But I would hate to lose him to a job like FAU.

Does anyone else remember a team blocking a punt in the last minute of the game when it absolutely had to happen for the team to win?
