Mickelson has the best upside offensively.

I'm glad he bulked up, but I'd like to see more muscle tone and quicker feet.

It took us getting shoved into the first row to get a foul.

The fact is we weren't going to win this game without Marshawn Powell.  I doubt even Mark Curles and Penn Wagers could have pulled the SEC out of that one.  Not that they would have tried to pull Arkansas out of it anyway, of course.

UCONN was just a more talented team with a lot more answers out there. We have Young and a bunch of questions.

That's how it's going to be for a lot of the season, which is why I'm not expecting a lot out of us this year.

That said, considering we didn't have Powell, we did play hard and put on a better performance than I thought we might.  I saw us easily losing this game by 25+.

My first look at the BB Hogs this year.  We are not world beaters, but unlike last year, the players look like they have been coached and know what to do.  We look scrappy on the inside, but it looks like we are lacking on offense.  I like the pressing defense.

I'm encouraged.

We're going to play hard at least. If our 3's are hitting we will make games interesting.

My first look at them too, and I wasn't too disappointed.  If we would have seen some more offense from the rest of the team, this might have been a winnable game.  It's like every shot UConn took, they hit the bottom of the basket.  I'm glad we hung with them though, and forced them to play their starters start to finish.  I don't think we'll make the tourney, but I could see us putting up 15-20 wins this year.

I bet against Uconn because they are nor yet very disciplined. They were fricking with us in the second half. Bj young can score. Besides him, we are going to be in a world of hurt offensively. I do not like madden at all.  I hope Anderson can get the turd out of him

If we had Marshawn we'd be a bubble team. With Marshawn and Rotnei we might be a 7 seed.

This team at least plays hard for 40 minutes. We'll get better and be a tough team to beat at the end of the year.

Now, if Stokes shows up at semester...

This.

If we had Rotnei we would still have Uncle and Daddy.  I think we're better off without them, and I say that with no sour grapes outside the ones used to make the Mogen David smoothie I'm nursing.

We went into a tough environment and gave them all we could. If we could make a few fricking free throws and those shots under the basket, we could have won this game.

Being in the XL Center, the UConn fans were impressed with Young and this team. They couldn't believe how young we were when I told them.

I did overhear this before the game: "I am not selling you this ticket for less than face value. We are playing Arkansas, it's not like this is Fordham."

I also heard one guy screaming: "Get this football team off the court." It's weird to be thought of as a football school. When I brought up 1994 and 40 minutes of Starkville, he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about.

I cannot wait to be relevant in both sports again... Soon.

Obviously the SEC-Big East Challenge wasn't such a good deal for the SEC.  We're getting stomped.

The SEC got shitstomped in the W-L column but ESPN got several close games involving ranked teams so I doubt they are complaining:

61-56 #17 Pitt over Tennessee
72-68 #3 Syracuse over Florida
62-60 #6 Louisville over #19 Vandy
73-72 #1 Kentucky over #5 North Carolina

The first three are correct.  However, the last one is not part of the challenge.  North Carolina's in the ACC.

Abron has some gritinasty about him.  Young is fricking entertaining.

In fact, the whole team is pretty entertaining.  I may actually go to BWA this year and watch a game live.  Which will be a mAjor step since today's game was the first bball game I've watched entirely in about 8 years.

Great hire Long.
