We wouldn't be able to build something like that.

Because our land is worth something.

Did you know the Arkansas Razorbacks have the worst winning % at .355 in bowl games for teams that have played in 30 or more bowls? We are #25 out of 25 teams that have played in 30+ bowls.

We really need to start winning bowls

I'd say most of that was just playing badly but I can think of 2 or 3 bowls we probably didn't "deserve" to be in based on what we'd done but Frank's good connections probably got us there: the Mizzou and OU Cotton Bowls and the Bosworth Orange Bowl.

But more often, we just don't show up in winnable bowls.  They worst might have been the Music City Bowl - just sleep walking.

The Las Vegas bowl loss to UNLV a few years back comes to mind as well.

Didn't Hatfield and Nutt account for 10 of those losses?  Five each?  Nutt lost three winnable games just due to his incompetence.

That's what concerns me the most about this bowl.  If we don't show up KState's ground game will run roughshod over us and we'll be humiliated by a lesser opponent.  And then I'll have to hear about it from my brother-in-law...

Please, BMFP, turn this trend around and stomp a bloody mud-hole in KSate!

That.  We are 12-23-2.  Paw Paw was 4-6, Hatfield a miserable 1-5, and Mr. Golden Parachute 2-6.  I'm laying the 2008 Cotton Bowl squarely on his man tits.  Granny was 3-2-1.  cBMFP is .500, soon to be .667.

Knowing the little bit I know of Hog history, I would say that looks like a pattern of being good, then spending the next 30 years getting invited to bowls that are probably better than you should be in due to the old AD's influence combined with opponents having a month to prepare for a long line of antiquated offenses.

Good morning woopig, and Happy New Year.  I'm jealous of all of you and your hangovers.  As this is my holiday call weekend, I didn't get to do aMm last night.

Cotton Bowl week is finally here, and I can't fricking wait!  It's been fairly obvious that cBMFP has been more clandestine than usual regarding the team's preparation since returning from Christmas break:  I hadn't heard, seen, or read anything.  The last pressers were several days before Christmas.  Finally, in this morning's AR-Dem Gaz, in an article by Tom Murphy, some players and coaches comments.

Alonzo Highsmith:  "We would love to get to 11 wins, possibly finish in the top five, that would be huge for us.  This is like being at home to us.  This is a great stadium to be playing in for a bowl game.  We're just ready to go out there and play."

Travis Swanson:  "Hopefully we can make it an 11-win season.  Only two other teams in school history have done that."  On practice:  "We had a good couple of grind days, got after it a little bit.  I thought we prepared real well.  I know we're excited to be here playing in this game.  Coach has emphasized that this is the only game being played on that day in a prime time slot.  I know this whole team is excited for this whole atmosphere and scenario we're in."

The Razorbacks begin on-site preparations today with a walkthrough type practice, then the serious work begins, with rugged days Monday and Tuesday, the team's standard "perfect Thusday" practice Wednesday, then the walkthrough on the day before the game.

cBMFP:  "The plan is to make it a normal week, and that'll be a little bit different than last year.  I think the schedule works out better.  We're not down there quite as long."

We will be ready.

Been watching a lot of interviews with coaches and players. They say they're more focused on winning the game and less focused on the aMm around the game than they were last year. Heard a couple of reports from the ground in Dallas that say K-state's players look more like our scout team. The computer models show us winning fairly easily... we're favored by 8 and BMFP don't lose when favored. Here's hoping we don't get boofoo'd into oblivion like we normally do in bowls.

How about that 1995 Carquest Bowl?

I went to the Indy-Weedwacker Bowl.  It was nothing like the Vegas fiasco.  The main difference being, like the fat girl at the prom, we were just lucky to be there.  Georgia had Eric Zaire and he put on a clinic, placing a lot of balls that were simply perfect and indefensible.  We just got beat by a better (though average) team that day.  No, we didn't play well but we weren't "drunk, fat, and stupid" like at the Vegas Bowl.
