Week 17 NFL Thread
« on: January 01, 2012, 12:52:26 PM »
NE, with home-field advantage on the line, is getting crushed at home 21-7 to Buffalo.

NYJ keeping the playoff dream alive, leading Miami 7-3.

Tennessee needs to win to keep hope alive, down 7-3 in Houston.

SF leads STL 14-7, they win and they will be the #2. NO needs SF to lose to get the #2, they lead Cam Newton 14-7.

GB, who has all their players inactive today, lead Detroit 10-9. Detroit can grab the #5 with a win.

Indy needs to lose to make sure they get the #1 overall in the draft, down 7-3 to JAX.

CHI-MIN and WASH-PHI are playing for the frick of it.

Just heard a new phrase. Announcer talking about Revis said he wasted no body movement, such an economy of motion. No aMm?

I'm not sure the Jets can keep going with Mark Sanchez (although I hope they do).

Sanchez just threw an INT in the redzone, basically sinking the Jets season.

Titans and Texans are tied with 7:00 to go.

If SF hangs on to win, they get the #2 and NO gets the #3.

Detroit playing for the #5, trail GB 31-26 in the 3rd. If DET loses, ATL can win in the afternoon and get the #5, avoiding NO next weekend.

no, according to this: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/NFL-playoff-picture-scenarios-2011

Titans will need Bengals loss and BOTH Oakland and Denver to win to get in the playoffs.

Jets score, need onside kick to make things real interesting.

EDIT: They don't get it, they are dunzo.

Been watching GB and Detroit.  Snow flurries and both QBs have thrown for over 400 yards.  First time ever in the NFL.  Matt Flynn in a backup role for the Pack.

45-41 Green Bay with just over 1 minute and Detroit receiving the kickoff.

The Jets need to try and get Flynn to be their starter.

The Texans pissed away a shot at win number 11, by going for 2 instead of playing for overtime.

Seeing Flynn (who has been around a few years) makes me wonder how much Mallett might be picking up in his system.

Mallett has a lot more physically to work with and NE's system is one of the few to match GB's, hope he's picking up what he is supposed to be picking up so we can see him light it up in a couple of years.

There's some info on him as of November, sounds good, but it is the homer paper.

Poor Jets.  Mouthy fricks aren't even in the playoffs.  Trash talk fail, and the fat ass head Coach probably doesn't even realize it, he'll just keep running his fat mouth and say..."hey, that's who I am."

Glad to see the Raiders are pissing down their legs since the Broncos don't really want to win this game.

Rob Ryan cant figure out that his talk just writes checks that his team cannot cash.  He has an aging o-line, a fricked in the head OC, an antique running back who never had any heart to play through pain, a lazy QB, and a bunch of really good corners but nothing else on defense.

Another season like this and he'll be unemployed in a year.

How bout them CHIEFs

I don't know about Crennel as a head coach (see Browns, Cleveland) but he sure got the defense going today.  Next year will be interesting.

Now it's time to wear out Dallas.  Go Giants, you sumbitching yankeeboys

I think you have pegged the Jets well.

The window of opportunity is rapidly closing and may be closed for a number of "good" teams for quite a while.  You broke down the Jets, the Chargers are gutless with a lazy coaching staff and I have always felt that they were among the biggest steroid abusers in the NFL and those bodies are starting to break down.  The Eagles have tied themselves to Vick and will flounder for a few years, even while I have heard a couple of announcers crown Jason Peters as the best player in the NFL, period.

I'm hoping Elway takes the bull by the horns and ends this Tebow bullshit in Denver and I think the Chiefs would be wise to put Crennel in there for good - the guy never had a chance in Cleveland with that sorry ass organization and his starters getting injured every year in Fall camp.

I don't normally give a aMm about the NFC East either way or the Cowboys, but tonight's game is truly must see TV.

As a cowboys fan I assure you that there is no chance of the cowboys winning tonight.  And this is no bs reverse jinx crap.
