2012 Football Offseason Thread

Saw on RT where Tank Wright tweeted ""well, it's been fun Razorbacks".

I hope this isn't true as we really need him with Bequette graduating. He's solid, but staying another year would really improve his chances of being taken higher in the draft.

Richard Owens, Reggie Johnson, and Brandon Sharp are now on Garrick McGee's staff at UAB:

So, we need new TE and LB coaches and a GA.

Surely he's not that dumb.  Dude needs to stay and have a non-injury plagued season.  And we need him.

He is good, but we have some good guys @ DE including Chris Smith who is the same guy.  Wright was better, but Smith is going to be good next year.

Coming next year
Smith
Flynn
Oats
Flowers
Arkadie
Nash
and 4 or 5 signees.

I'd like to see him stay but if he's got a better gig then get the Starkville out of the way. There are better guys waiting for a chance.

I don't see how anyone can say we have better DE's waiting in the wings.  Wright is the only one that's really proven anything, chris smith included up until KState's last drive.

LSU's Mo Claiborne is going pro. Tyrone Mathieu got exposed in the BCSNCS, and next year he'll get abused by DGB. Can't wait.

There might be higher potential waiting in the wings, but Wright is currently the most productive of our returning defensive ends (assuming he really is returning).  I've seen flashes from both Smith and Flowers, though, and while I'm worried about a drop-off, I'm not worried that we'll be scrambling to find someone to replace Bequette for the next 4 years.  I'm cautiously optimistic that it will pan out this season and am excited to see these young kids get their shots.

Owens and Sharp were both GAs, so we need a LB coach and two GAs.

Those flashes are what make me feel pretty good about next year. These guys will have the whole off- season to develop further and get meaner. Plus they'll have the advantage of being 'the man' at their positions. We will miss Bequette for a little while but I don't think things will be as bad as some seem to think.

And if they don't develop that will mean somsone else came and took their job, the way things should be.

Dudes named Tank ain't long for Fayetteville.

Is Wright okay academically? Maybe he didn't really have much say about whether to come back.

Anyone heard if Darrell Smith is transferring?  Javontee tweeted earlier something to the effect of "gonna miss partying with Jacoby and D Smith next year".  Hadn't seen that about Smith anywhere.
Let's get rid of that dogbone-shaped logo of ours, bring back the old school 'A' with the Hog running through it, and start kicking people's asses again.

I think a lot of you would be a lot better off not following players' tweets.

April 21st according to Jeff Long on Twitter.

Can we get a countdown clock for the countdown clock?
If we win, I'll light my dick on fire and slam my balls in a door on youtube, with a smile on my face.

I am not claiming I am right, I am saying I don't get it.
