The gymnastics team is ranked #1 in the country after a school record 197.225 this weekend.

Mark and Rene Cook are one of the best hires in Razorback history. They took a program from literally nothing to #1 in 10 years.

The girl below, Amy DeFilipino (sp?) graduated a year or two ago but I think it's a good pic. These are intense, exceptional athletes.

I think it is interesting that of 13 girls on the roster, six are from Arkansas or states that border Arkansas, plus another is from Lawrence, Kansas, which isn't that far as the crow flies.

That is great.

If you look at the first roster there are no gymnasts from Arkansas.

I wonder if Arkansas will ever adopt wrestling?
Every day, the future looks a little bit darker. But the past... even the grimy parts of it... keep on getting brighter.

We added Gymnastics to comply with Title IX.

I doubt we add ANY sports anytime soon, with the amount of money we are spending on coaches and facility upgrades now.

I realise you are talking about college but it surprised me how prevalent high school wrestling has become. Especially the kid right here in RussVegas who, I think won state in his class (106#?) and he has no legs and only one arm.

I think there may be a vid on here somewhere.

Taught me not to complain.  Well, much.

Maybe we could get the gymnastics team to double up.

Maybe throw in a little mud for an intersquad competition?

gymnastics as a sport isn't huge in arkansas.  there is plenty of girls that do it but as elite level, there are few programs set up for that training.

No wonder they're drawing ten times the crowd that women's b-ball is drawing.

Amazing that you could start a Division 1 program from scratch and have it ranked #1 inside of 10 years.

Impressive...Congrats to Cooks and all their little hotties...

I would be willing to personally put together the sponsorship of the female gymnastics team. I can see the pool parties now.
We're going to pick em up when they come off the damn bus. We gonna guard people.
