Waste Management Bowl. Won't even have to change midfield.

Good grief, I can't imagine being a bowl sponser trying to draw people to Little Rock.

Jesus, there's been a hog at midfield for at least two or three seasons now.

I'm pretty sure that's only there when we play.

But then I've been known to be wrong...

In all honesty that's the only time it matters...although it would be epic to see Howlin'-n-aMm playing in a bowl game there, with the HOG still at mid field.

It's probably going to be C-USA vs. the Belt in this bowl per this article:
http://arkansasmatters.com/fulltext?nxd_id=512622

"A college football bowl game could be in Little Rock's future.

The idea came up today during a meeting of the War Memorial Stadium commission.

Nothing has been decided yet, but the commission hopes to enter talks with the Sun Belt Conference, whose head comes to town tonight for UALR basketball games being played through Saturday.

War Memorial officials want to talk to the Sun Belt about a Conference USA/Sun Belt Bowl in Little Rock next year.

Although it's still early in the discussions, one suggested name for the bowl game is the Rice Bowl because of Arkansas' ties to the rice industry."

Rice Bowl? Brought to by Jeremy Lin?

Might as well name in the Yum Yum Bowl

How about the Once Believed To Be Extinct Ivory Billed Woodpecker Bowl

Not a better vacation destination than Pulaski County in mid-December.

I mean, if Starkville and Zimbabwe are booked solid.

True. I kind of like that they're thinking about sticking to the tradition of naming your bowl game after produce.

If we're going on names alone, it's still tough to beat the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl.

I'm talking about location. People don't get that excited about going to Boise or Mobile during the winter and they're aMm matchups.

At least with Boise you could take a side trip to Sun Valley. What are you going to do after watching the broke ass version of the Liberty Bowl? Head over to the farm equipment museum in Scott?

I thought that thing was closed.  Besides, Cothams Hubcap hamburgers there are a better draw.

In Mobile, you can git dronk and go piss in the gulf.

Get ready for the Diamond Bowl brought to you by Sissy's Log Cabin. DTS callers will dazzle our special guests with authentic frontier gibberish.

I think there is potential and they are being smart with the conference tie-ins.

It's not ever going to sell out, but because they are pulling from two conferences with regional presence, there are going to be years where the bowl has a very respectable turnout compared to other lower-tier bowls.

The draw of lower-tier bowls isn't so much the destination... it's just the fact that fans get to go to a bowl game. It's not an automatic, every year thig for most of these schools. If Tulsa is playing LA Tech (assuming they join he SBC when the WAC folds), I'd bet 40k is an attainable goal for the Rice Bowl. ASU, Troy, North Texas, MTSU, UAB, Southern Miss, etc. would all bring folks.

The Liberty Bowl is a shithole in a shithole town, and ECU brought a very respectable contingent in 2009.

As long as its a doable trip for both schools I think there is potential for some decent crowds.

Hopefully a tradition will develop for the winning team to go antiquing in Keo, or perhaps burning England and Coy to the ground.
