Interesting. I wonder if this is similar to how some people say the term "yard apes" and are referring to young kids (of any color) but some get all up in arms about it. I think its been discussed here, but I'm too lazy to search so deal with it.
I've heard 'yard apes' as a reference to toddlers, i.e. they are bigger than 'rug rats,' my whole life with never a hint of a racial meaning.
So...is he Chinese or Japanese?
